The anniversary of the 1903 separation of Panama from Colombia, observed with a military parade, the president's address, and the flying of the Panamanian flag on every building, car, and street corner. The day is both celebration and reflection, because the separation was engineered by the United States, which wanted to build the Panama Canal and could not reach an agreement with Colombia. The Panamanian independence was not entirely voluntary, and the US presence in the Canal Zone would last until 1999.
You witness the African elephant, the Zambian giraffe, and the lion as iconic wildlife throughout Zambia's national parks and savanna regions. You find that Zambians commonly keep dogs, cats, and chickens as household pets. ACADA celebrates the world's pets, and helps assure better care.
