Thingyan Akyat Nei
The third and most intense day of water fighting, called Akyat Nei. Entire cities become water battlegrounds, and the tradition is to throw water on everyone you meet, from monks to motorcyclists. The Yangon Thingyan pandal on Kandawgyi Lake is the largest, with hundreds of thousands of revelers dancing to live music. The water represents purification, and the chaos represents the cleansing of the old year's troubles.
