The first bell is rung by a boy in the first grade, who is carried on the shoulders of a girl in the last grade, and the sound of the bell marks the beginning of the school year. The children are nervous, the mothers are emotional, and the teachers are ready. The tradition is to give the teacher a bouquet of gladioli, and the teacher gives each child a small gift (a pencil, a notebook, or an apple).
