Festa ta' San Publiju

The feast of St Publius is celebrated in the village of Floriana, and the celebration includes a procession, fireworks, and the traditional meal of rabbit stew. St Publius is the first bishop of Malta, and he is the patron saint of Floriana. According to tradition, St Publius welcomed St Paul after his shipwreck on Malta in 60 AD, and he was later martyred in Rome. The feast of St Publius is one of the most important festas in Malta, and the fireworks display is one of the most spectacular on the island. The feast is also known for the "gin" (traditional Maltese firecrackers), which are set off throughout the night.
