Umunsi w'Amasomo

The first day of school. Children receive their uniforms and backpacks, and parents walk them to the school gate. The AHA: Rwanda switched its entire education system to English in 2008, making it the only country to switch its medium of instruction mid-stream. Teachers who had taught in French their entire careers had to learn English over a single summer. They did it.
