National holiday. The eccentric baron who left his entire fortune to Belize and never once set foot on land here. Every March 9th the fishing tournament runs, the harbor fills with boats, and Belizeans toast a man who chose this country over everywhere else. The lighthouse on the waterfront still bears his name.
