La Navidad liberiana es un día de iglesia, un día de familia y un día de comida. El servicio religioso es a la medianoche del 24, y los cantos son en inglés y en los idiomas locales. La comida navideña incluye arroz jollof, pollo frito, hojas de yuca, hojas de papa y pastel de batata. Los niños reciben regalos, generalmente ropa y zapatos, y los adultos intercambian visitas. The Filipino Christmas is the longest in the world, starting in September and ending in January. The celebration includes midnight mass, a family dinner, and the traditional meal of lechon, hamon, queso de bola, and fruit salad. Children receive gifts from Santa Claus (called "Papay" in some regions), and every home has a belen (nativity scene) and a parol (a star-shaped lantern that represents the Star of Bethlehem). The parol is the most iconic symbol of the Filipino Christmas, made from bamboo and paper or capiz shells, and hung outside every home, school, and building from September to January.
