The anniversary of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The day is observed with ceremonies, and the reminder that Namibia has one of the most progressive constitutions in Africa, which explicitly prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, sex, ethnicity, and religion. The day is both celebration and demand, and the signs say: "Human rights for all" and "End gender-based violence."
