The Namibian population is approximately 50% Ovambo, 9% Kavango, 7% Herero, 7% Damara, 5% Nama, 4% Lozi, 3% San, and 15% other groups including Baster, Tswana, and white Namibians. The day is a reminder that Namibia is a multicultural nation, and that diversity is its strength.
