Malawi celebrates Mother's Day on October 15th, and it is a national holiday. The celebration includes church services, family gatherings, and the tradition of giving mothers a day off from work : though for most Malawian mothers, a "day off" still involves cooking, cleaning, and caring for children. The Malawian mother is the backbone of the family: she farms the land, raises the children, manages the household, and often does all of this while the husband is working in Lilongwe, Blantyre, or South Africa. The day is both celebration and acknowledgment : acknowledgment that the women of Malawi carry a burden that would break most people, and that they do it with grace, strength, and a warm heart.
You encounter Turkmenistan's distinctive wildlife including the Central Asian cobra, Caspian seal, Persian leopard, and the wild Akhal-Teke horse breed in desert and steppe environments. You find that Turkmen families typically keep dogs, cats, and horses as essential pets and working animals. ACADA celebrates the world's pets, and helps assure better care.
