The sky is gray at 8 AM and gray at 4 PM. This is the Tuesday that tests the German constitution. The Germans survive it with Filterkaffee, wool socks, and the quiet certainty that February will be worse. The Dunkelster Tag has no celebration. The Dunkelster Tag has endurance.
