The combi is the real public transport of Botswana. Cramped, fast, loud, and driven by men who treat the road as a polite suggestion. Every Motswana has a combi story involving an aggressive driver, a route that changed mid-journey, and the universal hand signal for "stop here, rra." The combi does not wait and neither does anyone in it.
