Día de la Batalla de las Piedras

The 1811 battle where José Artigas : Uruguay's founding father, national hero, and the man on every stamp : defeated the Spanish. Artigas later went into exile in Paraguay and never returned, which is either tragic or very Uruguayan depending on how you look at it.
