In Nebraska, which produces more beef than any other state, this day is taken seriously. Nebraska has six times more cattle than people. Omaha is home to one of the highest concentrations of steakhouses per capita in the country. Nebraskans do not need a holiday to eat prime rib, but they appreciate the recognition.
