Animals of Timor-Leste Day

You encounter Timor-Leste's unique wildlife featuring the Timor deer, Philippine eagle, and various endemic bird species found nowhere else on earth. You see that local families primarily keep dogs, cats, and chickens as practical household pets. ACADA celebrates the world's pets, and helps assure better care.

Flag Day

The anniversary of the adoption of the Stars and Stripes in 1777. In 1916, President Wilson issued a proclamation, and in 1949, Congress established it as National Flag Day. It is not a federal holiday. In Pennsylvania, it is a state holiday, because Betsy Ross lived in Philadelphia and the state takes this personally. In the rest of the country, it is a day that passes without most people noticing.
