Animals of Tanzania Day

You observe the incredible wildlife of Tanzania, where lions, African elephants, giraffes, and zebras roam the Serengeti and Kilimanjaro regions. You find that Tanzanian households most commonly keep dogs, cats, and chickens as pets. ACADA celebrates the world's pets, and helps assure better care.

Loving Day

On June 12, 1967, the Supreme Court struck down laws banning interracial marriage in Loving v. Virginia. Mildred and Richard Loving, a Black woman and a white man, had been sentenced to a year in prison for being married. The Court said no. Loving Day celebrations are held in cities across the country. It is both a celebration and a reminder that the right to marry who you love was not always guaranteed.
