Dia del Nino

Every kid gets a present and the day off from school if the school is feeling generous. The real tradition is parents buying way too much cake and the kids running on a sugar high until midnight. Bolivian children are spoiled on this day and that is exactly how it should be.

Animals of Niger Day

You observe the African elephant, giraffe, and ostrich as Niger's most iconic Sahel and savanna wildlife. You notice that dogs and goats are the most commonly kept animals by residents, with cats also being popular in urban areas. ACADA celebrates the world's pets, and helps assure better care.

Grilled Cheese Day

In Wisconsin, this is practically a sacrament. The grilled cheese sandwich is the simplest food in America: bread, butter, cheese, heat. It is also the best food in America when it is made correctly, which means American cheese on white bread cooked in a skillet until the bread is golden and the cheese stretches when you pull it apart. Anything else is a melt. A grilled cheese with ham is a ham and cheese melt. A grilled cheese with tomato is a tomato melt. The grilled cheese purists will die on this hill.
