Four Chaplains Day

In 1943, four military chaplains (two Protestant, one Catholic, one Jewish) gave their life jackets to soldiers when the USAT Dorchester was torpedoed. They linked arms and went down with the ship. This is observed at military chapels around the country, and in churches that remember that the point of faith is not what you believe but what you give away.
