Nachos Day

Nachos were invented in 1943 by Ignacio "Nacho" Anaya at the Victory Club in Piedras Negras, Mexico, just across the border from Eagle Pass, Texas. He made them for a group of military wives who arrived after the kitchen had closed. He cut tortillas into triangles, added cheese and jalapenos, and served them. The dish was an instant hit. In Texas, nachos are a food group. In stadium nachos, the cheese comes from a pump. This is not a judgment. It is a fact.
