Products of Micronesia Day

You acknowledge that Micronesia has minimal internationally recognized brands due to its island economy, but you honor its copra (dried coconut) production and traditional handicrafts. You respect how these products reflect Micronesian self-sufficiency and connection to Pacific ocean resources.

Flag Day

The anniversary of the adoption of the Stars and Stripes in 1777. In 1916, President Wilson issued a proclamation, and in 1949, Congress established it as National Flag Day. It is not a federal holiday. In Pennsylvania, it is a state holiday, because Betsy Ross lived in Philadelphia and the state takes this personally. In the rest of the country, it is a day that passes without most people noticing.
