Sodabi Gbe
Sodabi, the local palm liquor that burns going down and warms you from the inside out, is distilled from palm wine in small batches, often in village stills hidden under thatch. It is served at every gathering that matters: funerals, weddings, naming ceremonies, and spontaneous celebrations that arise from nothing more than someone arriving with a bottle. The first sip shocks, the second sip convinces, and by the third you understand why Togolese people never pour sodabi alone. You pour a drop for the ancestors first, then you pour for yourself.
