Bonfires are lit across the country to welcome spring, and choirs sing traditional spring songs from university towns and city parks. In Uppsala, the students gather at the Carolina Rediviva library to put on their white graduation caps, then float down the Fyris River on rafts in the notorious rafting party, the Forsfarningen. The night is a celebration of spring that begins with choir music and ends with drunken students in a river.
