World Calendar Day

Dia de la Mujer

National holiday since 2024. The marches through Santiago are among the largest in Latin America, filling the Alameda from La Moneda to Baquedano with green scarves and fierce conviction. Chilean feminism has its own voice and it does not ask permission.

Regional/Cultural Day

Medzinarodny Den Zen

A legacy of the socialist era, when it was an official holiday with mandatory flower-giving. Today it is observed more modestly, but many Slovak men still give flowers to the women in their lives, and the gesture is appreciated despite its political origins. In recent years, the day has also become a platform for women's rights demonstrations in Bratislava and Kosice, with marchers calling for equal pay and an end to domestic violence.
