A day for checking the small daily routines that keep water respected, conserved, and safely shared at home and in public life.
In 2011, Samoa skipped December 30 entirely, jumping from December 29 straight to December 31 : moving from the east side of the International Date Line to the west. AHA!: Samoa literally deleted a day from the calendar to align its trade with Australia and New Zealand instead of the United States. The previous day, Samoa was 21 hours behind Sydney. The next day, it was 3 hours ahead. Workers who were scheduled to work on December 30 simply didn't : and got paid anyway.
A day for public knowledge, borrowed books, study time, research, and the simple dignity of a quiet place.
A day for food, water, grooming, shade, warmth, and the small routines that keep animals safe and loved.

You understand that while commercial brands are limited, Flag represents modern Djibouti, while traditional pastoralism and frankincense remain culturally rooted in the landscape.
