Umwungeri w'Ubumwe

February kicks off Rwanda's national unity campaigns. Schools hold debates, neighborhoods host peace talks, and the government runs radio spots about Ndi Umunyarwanda ("I am Rwandan") : the identity that replaced the ethnic labels that were weaponized in 1994. The AHA moment: Rwanda is one of the only countries that legally abolished ethnic identity categories. You won't find "Hutu" or "Tutsi" on any official document.

Animals of Togo Day

You observe Togo's distinctive animals including African elephants, spotted hyenas, various antelope species, and crocodiles in its savannas and waterways. You find that Togolese households commonly keep dogs, cats, and goats as pets and working animals. ACADA celebrates the world's pets, and helps assure better care.

Vibrant display of handmade goods at the traditional market in Sucre, Bolivia under historic colonnades.

Products of Bolivia Day

You drink Bolivian quinoa and consume Bolivian coffee, among the world's highest-altitude grown crops that define the nation's agricultural identity. You value these products because they represent indigenous Andean farming traditions dating back millennia and support rural communities across Bolivia's highlands.
