Resolution Map Day

New Year's Resolutions are nearly universal failures in every culture. Now that New Year's Day is a few days behind, if you truly intend to make change, today is when you map realistic goals on a calendar and write daily steps you can take to make goals real. If you won't write it today, you'll have nothing to follow tomorrow.

Sfantul Ioan

The day after Epiphany is St. John's Day, celebrated with a church service and the tradition of blessing houses with holy water. The priest visits every house in the village, sprinkling holy water on the walls, doors, and windows. The tradition is to give the priest a donation and offer him a glass of tuica (plum brandy). St. John is the patron of families and the protector of wolves : shepherds in the Carpathians consider this day especially important, lighting candles in the stables to protect their flocks.
