Dzien Dziadka
The day after Grandmother's Day is set aside for grandfathers. The dziadek is the storyteller, the one who teaches chess, the one who fought in the war or survived the occupation. Grandchildren bring small gifts, and the tradition is to sit and listen to his stories about the old Poland. The day is quieter than Grandmother's Day, but no less important in a culture that reveres its elders.
