Dzien Flagi Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej

The day after Labour Day is Flag Day, and the tradition is to display the Polish flag (white and red) from every window, balcony, and rooftop. The day was established in 2004, and it is a reminder that the Polish flag was banned during the partitions (1795-1918) and the Nazi occupation (1939-1945). The flag is a symbol of Polish identity, and the tradition is to fly it with pride. It also falls between Labour Day and Constitution Day, creating a three-day patriotic period.
