Boze Cialo Processions

The outdoor processions on Corpus Christi are among the most visually striking Catholic traditions in Poland. Four outdoor altars are set up along the procession route, decorated with birch branches, flowers, and handmade linens. The priest carries the Blessed Sacrament under a canopy held by four men, and children scatter flower petals on the street. In rural villages, the procession passes through fields and meadows, and the farmers pray for a good harvest. . 2026: Mar 4. 2027: Mar 23.

Zielone Swiatki

The Polish Pentecost, also known as the "Green Holidays," is celebrated with the decoration of homes and churches with fresh green branches of birch, linden, and fern. The tradition dates back to pre-Christian Slavic spring rituals, and the belief is that the green branches bring health and prosperity. In the countryside, farmers drive their cattle to pasture for the first time, and the priest blesses the fields. The day is a public holiday, and most Poles attend church and then gather for a family meal. . 2026: Mar 4. 2027: Mar 23.
