Dia de la Cocina Peruana
Peru has one of the world's great cuisines, and the Dia de la Cocina Peruana is a celebration of the culinary tradition that spans over 5,000 years. The Peruvian cuisine is a fusion of indigenous, Spanish, African, Chinese, Japanese, and Italian influences, and it includes ceviche (raw fish marinated in lime juice), lomo saltado (stir-fried beef with onions, tomatoes, and French fries), aji de gallina (shredded chicken in a spicy walnut sauce), causa limea (mashed potato layered with tuna or chicken), and anticuchos (grilled beef heart skewers).
