Dia de las Americas
A commemoration of Pan-American unity and cooperation. In Panama City, diplomatic events celebrate the countries of the Americas while acknowledging the canal that connects them. The Organization of American States uses the day to highlight regional challenges including migration through the Darien Gap, the treacherous jungle passage between South and Central America that has become one of the world's most dangerous migration routes.
