Yawm al-Dhakira
The anniversary of the 1948 Deir Yassin massacre, in which over 100 Palestinian villagers were killed by Zionist militias. The massacre became a symbol of the Nakba and was a key event in the flight of Palestinians from their homes. The day is observed with memorial ceremonies, the reading of survivor testimonies, and the lighting of candles.
