Resolution Map Day

New Year's Resolutions are nearly universal failures in every culture. Now that New Year's Day is a few days behind, if you truly intend to make change, today is when you map realistic goals on a calendar and write daily steps you can take to make goals real. If you won't write it today, you'll have nothing to follow tomorrow.

Eid al-Milad al-Urthudhuks

The Orthodox Christmas is celebrated on January 7th by the Palestinian Christian community : roughly 2% of the population but one of the oldest Christian communities in the world. The celebration centres on midnight mass at the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, built over the cave where Jesus is believed to have been born. The original church dates to 327 AD, making it one of the oldest continuously operating churches on Earth. Palestinian Christmas is not about presents; it is about presence : visiting the Church of the Nativity, praying for peace, and gathering with family over maqluba, stuffed lamb, and knafeh.
