Internasjonal Kvinnedag

The day is observed with marches and events organized by women's groups across Norway, and the demands include equal pay, an end to domestic violence, and recognition of women's contributions to society. Norway has one of the most gender-equal societies in the world, with a gender pay gap of around 8 percent and 40 percent of board members at listed companies being women. Many women wear red scarves and attend rallies in the city centers, and the day is both celebration and protest.
