Osun-Osogbo Festival Preparation

The preparation for the Osun-Osogbo Festival begins weeks before the main event, and it involves the cleaning of the sacred grove, the painting of the sculptures, and the gathering of the sacrificial offerings. The Osun sacred grove is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it contains over 40 sculptures and art works that were created by the Austrian artist Susanne Wenger (who was later initiated as a priestess of Osun). The grove is the spiritual center of Osogbo, and the preparation for the festival is as important as the festival itself.

Animals of Malta Day

You appreciate Malta's unique species including the Maltese wall lizard, Yelkouan shearwater, and painted frog found on these Mediterranean islands. You see that Maltese households commonly keep dogs, cats, and rabbits as their preferred pets. ACADA celebrates the world's pets, and helps assure better care.
