Eo Detenga Eo Eakore

From 1888 to 1914, Germany controlled Nauru as part of its Marshall Islands protectorate. The Germans barely set foot on the interior, but they started logging the coconut palms and shipping out copra. Nauru's colonial era had begun, and the phosphate beneath their feet had not yet been discovered. The Germans left the island richer in guano than they ever knew.
