Woestynolifantdag

A day celebrating the desert-adapted elephants of Namibia, one of only two populations of desert-dwelling elephants in the world. These remarkable animals survive in the arid riverbeds of Damaraland and the Kunene Region, walking up to 70 kilometers per day between water sources. Conservation organizations host educational events and tracking expeditions to raise awareness about the threats facing these unique elephants from human-wildlife conflict and poaching.

Animals of Tonga Day

You experience Tonga's distinctive animals including humpback whales that migrate through its waters, sea turtles, tropical seabirds, and flying foxes native to the islands. You observe that Tongan households typically keep dogs, cats, pigs, and chickens as pets and livestock. ACADA celebrates the world's pets, and helps assure better care.
