A day honoring the farmers of Myanmar, who form the backbone of the economy with agriculture employing 70 percent of the population. The celebration includes the traditional meal of htamin thoke (rice salad) and laphet thoke (tea leaf salad). Farmers across the country gather at local markets to sell their harvest and celebrate the agricultural cycle that sustains Myanmar.
