Resolution Map Day

New Year's Resolutions are nearly universal failures in every culture. Now that New Year's Day is a few days behind, if you truly intend to make change, today is when you map realistic goals on a calendar and write daily steps you can take to make goals real. If you won't write it today, you'll have nothing to follow tomorrow.

Kayin Hnit Thit Ku

The Karen (Kayin) ethnic minority celebrates its new year according to the Karen calendar, with traditional dancing, bamboo flute music, and the wearing of the Karen national costume. The Karen people are one of the largest ethnic minorities in Myanmar, and their new year is both a celebration of identity and a statement of survival. The celebration includes the traditional Karen dance, the don dance, performed in a circle with linked arms.
