World Everyday Inventor Day

A day for improvised fixes, clever storage, new uses for old things, and the small engineering people do without a title.

Regional/Cultural Day

Undesnii Negdeliin Odor

The anniversary of the adoption of the Mongolian Constitution in 1992, which established Mongolia as a democratic republic with a parliamentary system. The day is observed with ceremonies at the State Palace, the flying of the Mongolian flag (red, blue, and the Soyombo symbol), and the reminder that Mongolia is one of the few democracies in Central Asia. The constitution guarantees freedom of religion, speech, and assembly, and it recognizes the nomadic way of life as a cultural treasure. The day is both celebration and reflection, because the transition from communism to democracy was difficult, and the challenges of building a democracy in a vast, sparsely populated country are ongoing.
