Resolution Map Day

New Year's Resolutions are nearly universal failures in every culture. Now that New Year's Day is a few days behind, if you truly intend to make change, today is when you map realistic goals on a calendar and write daily steps you can take to make goals real. If you won't write it today, you'll have nothing to follow tomorrow.

Craciunul

The Moldovan Christmas is celebrated on January 7 following the Julian calendar. The celebration includes a church service, a family dinner, and the tradition of colinda (caroling). Colinda groups go from house to house, singing traditional carols and receiving sweets, fruit, and money in return. The Christmas dinner breaks the fast with sarmale, mamaliga, and placinta, and the table is set with 12 dishes, one for each apostle. Roast pork, sausage (carnati), and jellied meat (racituri) appear on every table. The priest visits homes to bless them with holy water, and the children receive coins and fruit from the neighbors.
