Dia de Reyes

Festa tal-Epifanija

The feast of the Epiphany is celebrated with church services across Malta and Gozo, and the tradition of the "Three Kings" procession in the village of Zabbar. The Maltese have a strong tradition of the presepju (nativity scene), and the Epiphany marks the end of the Christmas season. The Three Kings, known in Maltese as it-Tliet Slaten, are an important part of the nativity tradition, and the presepju in every home is not complete until the three kings arrive at the manger. The Epiphany is also the day when the Maltese traditionally take down their Christmas decorations, and the last of the Christmas sweets are eaten before the season of fasting begins.
