Dia de la Mujer

National holiday since 2024. The marches through Santiago are among the largest in Latin America, filling the Alameda from La Moneda to Baquedano with green scarves and fierce conviction. Chilean feminism has its own voice and it does not ask permission.

Tarptautinė Moters Diena

Inherited from the Soviet era, but embraced by Lithuanian women as both celebration and demand. The flowers are given (tulips and daffodils), and the demands include equal pay (the gender pay gap in Lithuania is 12%), an end to domestic violence, and better childcare. Lithuania has one of the highest rates of female employment in the EU, and the day is both flowers and frustration.
