The paradox of Liechtenstein is everywhere: a tiny principality of 38,000 people that is also one of the wealthiest nations on earth, where the Prince can veto laws passed by parliament, where banking secrecy was until recently a national industry, and where the largest employer is a power-tool company in Schaan.
