World Calendar Day

World Early Light Day

A day for sunrise routines, first errands, morning work, school starts, fresh bread, transit, prayer, chores, and quiet ambition.

Johannistag — World Calendar Day
Regional/Cultural Day

Johannistag

The eve of St. John the Baptist's Day, celebrated with bonfires, music, and the traditional meal of grilled sausages and potato salad. The bonfires are lit on the mountains, and the tradition is to jump over the fire (a remnant of the pre-Christian midsummer tradition). The fires are not as large as the National Day bonfire, but they are more intimate, and the setting is the Alpine meadow under the stars. In the vineyards above Vaduz, the wine growers mark the occasion with a special tasting of the previous year's wine : Liechtenstein's Pinot Noir is particularly good, and the Johannistag tasting is a local secret.

Quiet Library Table Day — World Calendar Day
