Dia del Amor y la Amistad

Colombians celebrate this on the third Saturday of September in some regions, but February 14 still brings roses, serenatas, and the aggressive marketing of every restaurant in the Zona Rosa. The real Colombian love language is bringing someone a tinto when they didn't ask for one.

Valentinstag

Observed in Liechtenstein with the usual chocolates and flowers, but also with a local tradition: the gifting of Liechtenstein postage stamps. Liechtenstein's stamps are the country's most famous export : more famous than any product, any person, any event. The Liechtensteinische Post produces some of the most beautiful and collectible stamps in the world, and the annual Valentine's stamp is a small work of art. Philately accounts for roughly 10% of the national revenue, and the Post has been issuing stamps since 1912. The Valentine's stamps are miniature engravings of roses, hearts, and Alpine romance, printed in Vaduz and sent to collectors worldwide.
