A day for the neighborly economy of ladders, pans, cords, books, advice, and returning things better than you found them.
The anniversary of the liberation of Libya from Gaddafi's forces in 2011. The day is observed with ceremonies, the flying of the new flag, and the celebration of the end of the 42-year dictatorship. The liberation was declared on October 23, 2011, after the fall of Sirte and the death of Gaddafi. The day is both celebration and uncertainty, because the liberation did not bring peace. It brought a civil war that continues to this day.
