The city is on the Mediterranean coast, 130km east of Tripoli, and the limestone ruins are among the most spectacular in the Mediterranean. The day includes guided tours, lectures on Roman Libya, and the celebration of Libya's pre-Islamic heritage. The amphitheater, the hippodrome, and the Severan Arch are the highlights.
