Kids leave their shoes out the night before and wake up hoping for a gift from the Reyes Magos. The panaderias sell roscon de reyes, the ring-shaped sweet bread with a plastic baby hidden inside. Whoever finds the baby hosts the next gathering, though everyone forgets by February.

The tradition is to write the initials of the Three Kings (KMB for Kaspar, Melchior, Balthazar) on the door with chalk, and the initials are left there until the next Epiphany. The day is also called "Zvaigznes" (Stars), and the star on top of the Christmas tree is the last decoration to be removed.
