Youm al-Thaqafa

Organized by the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, this day celebrates Kuwait's cultural institutions: the Kuwait National Museum, the Tareq Rajab Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Centre (the ASCC, which is the largest museum complex in the Middle East). Kuwait has a long tradition of intellectual and cultural life, from the literary salons of the 1950s to the contemporary art scene of the 2020s, and the day is marked by free museum admission, open readings, and performances at the Al-Shaheed Park cultural complex.

Animals of Niue Day

You observe the distinctive Niue Island reef heron and Pacific golden plover that inhabit this isolated South Pacific nation. You notice that Niueans primarily keep chickens, pigs, and dogs as practical domesticated animals. ACADA celebrates the world's pets, and helps assure better care.
